WRCF To Feed 2,500 Prince George's County Families In Need At 14th Annual Harvest Feast

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation – with Redskins staff and players – will join more than 150 volunteers to distribute Thanksgiving food baskets, whole turkeys provided by SHOPPERS Food & Pharmacy® and refreshments provided by Coca-Cola to 2,500 Prince George's County residents in need on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 12 – 2:30 p.m. at the 14th annual Redskins Harvest Feast presented by Ryan Homes at FedExField. 

Since 2003, the Redskins have gifted more than 1,152,335 pounds of packaged and fresh food and 490,500 pounds of turkey to area families in need. At this year's Harvest Feast, the Redskins will distribute roughly 90,000 pounds of packaged food and 30,000 pounds of turkey. Performance Foodservice of Maryland provided a monetary contribution and will assist with volunteer support and in the movement and delivery of food products to FedExField.

Harvest Feast Timeline:

11:15 a.m.                   Press Conference

12 – 2:30 p.m.         Food Distribution

Redskins Owner Dan Snyder, Redskins players – including Jamison Crowder, Rob Kelley and Josh Norman –are scheduled to attend the event.

The event is not open to the general public.Prince George's County Department of Social Services (PGCDSS) has determined eligibility for participation in the Harvest Feast food distribution program. In order to qualify, participants must provide proof of residency.

Media Information:

This event will be held rain or shine on the main level concourse between the NRG Energy Gate A and Comcast Gate at FedExField.

Media interested in attending should park in FedExField Lot H and enter through the Suites Administrative lobby entrance (adjacent to the Redskins Ticket Office).

A member of Redskins Public Relations will be in the lobby credentialing media and distributing Harvest Feast press kits. Media availability is from 11 – 12:30 p.m. See above for the Harvest Feast event timeline.

Redskins Harvest Feast is one of several initiatives within the Redskins "Season of Sharing" campaign to assist families and children during the holidays.
