Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation To Host Redskins FITT -- Teambuilding Event Tuesday

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation (WRCF), American Diabetes Association® and GO-Adventures are teaming up to host a Redskins FITT – Teambuilding Event on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Jefferson Middle School Academy in Washington, D.C. from 1:30 – 3 p.m.

*Redskins players *will lead 100 middle school students through a series of teambuilding and cognitive development exercises with the help of coaches from GO-Adventures. Each activity will focus on the topics of trust, communication, cooperation and fun.

As a part of the DC Public Schools Seventh Grade Cornerstone Program, Jefferson Middle School Academy students will be completing the Redskins FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type) curriculum for developing a personalized fitness plan. Redskins FITT was developed in partnership with DC Public Schools and the American Diabetes Association and covers five lessons, one of which focuses on cognitive skills development and training.

“Our teambuilding exercises are designed to challenge the group and give them the opportunity to overcome that challenge, which helps to build that foundation of trust,” said Eriq Powers, Founder of GO-Adventures. “We want participants to work a little harder, plan a little deeper and take more chances for their team. This is the essence of teambuilding.”
