Former Washington Redskins tackle Joe Jacoby is featured as one of the most deserving players to be a senior nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019 in Wednesday’s Talk of Fame Sports Network article.
And as every single Redskins fan knows, Jacoby deserves this more than anyone else.
Jacoby was one of 10 players listed in the poll for fans and have the ability to vote on the website as to which player they believe is most deserving. From an undrafted college free agent to landing on the 1980s NFL all-decade selection as an offensive tackle, Jacoby became a force for the Redskins and was a part of one of the Hogs offensive line.
The three-time Super Bowl champion played a key role in Joe Gibbs’ offense, often making lead blocks to open up the right side of the line.
Jacoby has been a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio three times now.
If Jacoby is rightfully enshrined, he would become the 31st member of the Redskins to be inducted. He would become the fourth offensive lineman in Redskins’ history to be selected, with Dick Stanfel having the most recent induction in 2016.
