USAA Salute to Service Moment: Redskins vs. Colts

On Sunday, September 16, the Washington Redskins honored Cpl Kaitlyn Hicks and Cpl Anrea Elfrink of the U.S. Marine Corps 

Cpl Kaitlyn Hicks was born on July 30th 1995 in Atlanta, GA. She is the daughter of Kendall and Leaha Hicks. Her siblings include her sister Kristen Leach,25 and Brother-in-law Christopher Leach, 27.

Cpl Hicks entered the United States Marine Corps in September of 2015. Upon completion of recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, she reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. After MCT, Cpl Hicks proceeded to Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri for Military Police MOS instruction. Upon completion of MOS training, Cpl Hicks was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1).

While assigned as Military Police to HMX-1, Cpl Hicks has provided support to President of the United States on over (15) CONUS missions and (6) OCONUS missions. In May of 2018 she was selected thru an extensive board process to be a Marine One Ceremonial Guard. She is the first ever female Marine to be selected as a Marine One Ceremonial Guard. Since her appointed she has executed over (12) Presidential Ceremonial Guard events.

Andrea M Elfrink was born in Saint Louis, MO to Kenneth and Mary Elfrink on August 5, 1996. Upon graduation from Pacific High School in the summer of 2015, Cpl Elfrink enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from MCRD Parris Island on May 13, 2016. Then Private First Class Elfrink went on to complete Marine Combat Training, Basic Aviation School, and finally earning here Aviation Electronics Technician military occupational skill and promotion to Lance Corporal aboard MCAS New River, Jacksonville, NC on April 14, 2017.

Cpl Elfrink earned the rank of Corporal on January 1, 2018 and is currently serving as an Aviation Electronic Technician at HMX-1 aboard MCB Quantico, VA. Cpl Elfrink recently completed a Non-Commissioned officer leadership course where she was the "Honor Graduate" out performing thirty of her peers.
