Audition season is always an exciting time. As a veteran, you are vehemently awaiting the chance of another season on the field, while Rookie Hopefuls are eager to earn a spot on one of the longest running professional cheerleading teams in the NFL. Meeting Rookie Hopefuls during prep classes and the audition process is always inspiring. Personally, Rookie Hopeful Taylor uncovers feelings of sweet nostalgia and immense pride every time I watch her in prep class. I’ve had the honor of watching Taylor blossom into a beautiful young woman and an amazing dancer, and I’m thrilled I was able to get the behind-the-scenes scoop of her "With Grace and Grit" interview with WRC Jade.
Taylor began her dance journey at the tender age of 5 years old. Later, she was able to secure a spot on Albert Einstein High School’s pom squad. Additionally, she was concurrently a member of the performing arts dance company, where she studied jazz, kick, modern and contemporary styles. As a fitness enthusiast, Taylor enjoys working out and sharing her knowledge of fitness and nutrition with others, helping to promote a healthy lifestyle to men and women in her community. When Taylor isn’t hitting the gym, she is a Montgomery County Public School dance teacher, teaching and inspiring children from kindergarten to fifth grade. She can also be found hitting the books, as she is a full-time student at Bowie State University, where she majors in Psychology, minors in Criminal Justice and is a member of the S.O.S. Band’s dance team, the Dancing Divas.
Taylor shares that the best advice she has received during prep class is to conquer her nerves and be confident in who she is. She intends to show the judges through her confidence that she is having fun and enjoying the learning experience. This mindset is a true display of grace and grit, which makes her a great candidate for a First Lady of Football. Head over to the official YouTube channel for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders to watch Taylor’s full interview and to wish her luck on her first time auditioning to become a First Lady of Football.
Hail to the Redskins,
