The Washington Redskins are taking on the Caroina Panthers at FedExField in the team's first home game since its victory over the Packers. Check out a running list of the highlights from the game.
After punting on its first drive, Washington's coverage team forces a fumble on Panthers returner DJ Moore. The Redskins recovered the fumbled that was caused by linebacker Shaun Dion-Hamilton, setting up the offense in great field position. One play later, the team cashed in with Alex Smith finding tight end Vernon Davis for a 22-yard score to make it 7-0. The touchdown was the 61st of Davis' career, putting him in seventh for all-time touchdown receptions by a tight end.
Following a defensive stand, tight end Jordan Reed makes a spectacular one-handed grab on third down. The catch would go for a gain of seven yards, leaving the Redskins in a fourth-and-1 scenario. Smith then ran a quarterback sneak to pick up the first down and keep the drive going.
Later in the drive, Smith connects with receiver Paul Richardson Jr. for two-yard touchdown pass. The second touchdown reception for Richardson this season gave the Redskins a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
With the Redskins defensive front creating pressure, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had no choice but to throw the ball up. The result: an interception for cornerback Josh Norman. The pick was Norman's first of the 2018 season.
New drive, same Josh Norman. After intercepting Newton on the previous drive, Norman adds a forced fumbled to his stat sheet, stripping Carolina receiver DJ Moore.
Norman's forced fumble set the Redskins up with the ball once again, and after a few completions from Smith, kicker Dustin Hopkins converted a 49-yard field goal to extend the lead to 17-0 in the second quarter.
After an impressive touchdown grab from Panthers' receiver Devin Funchess cut the lead to 17-6, running back Adrian Peterson started off the Redskins next offensive possession with a bang. Peterson found a hole and burst up the sideline for a big gain. The Redskins running back did this all with just one cleat, as one fell off and attached to a Panthers defender's helmet mid-play.
The Panthers kick a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter to make it 17-9 Redskins.
Dustin Hopkins' 56-yard kick is good, Redskins lead 20-9. The 56-yard kick is a new career-long for Hopkins.
Panthers get a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make it a three point game, 20-17 Redskins.

Redskins add another three points with Hopkins' leg to make it 23-17.
Redskins get a stop on fourth-and-5, giving the ball back to the offense with 34 seconds left on the clock. Alex Smith kneels the ball to end the game, securing the Redskins a 23-17 win over the Panthers.
