The Washington Redskins announced on Wednesday that they have signed college free agent tight end Garrett Hudson.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a corresponding move, the team waived wide receiver De'Mornay Pierson-El.

Hudson, 23, joins the Redskins after spending three seasons at the University of Richmond where he appeared in 39 career games.

During his time with the Spiders, the 6-foot-4, 245 pounder tallied 65 receptions for 1,001 yards and nine touchdowns.

As a senior in 2017, Hudson was a first-team All-CAA selection as he caught 23 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns.

During his junior season, meanwhile, Hudson recorded career highs across the board, collecting 31 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns in 14 appearances.

Hudson's first season in Richmond was in 2015, where he appeared in 14 games, registering 11 receptions for 220 yards and two touchdowns.

He began his college career as a walk-on at North Carolina before transferring to Richmond.

With his addition, the Redskins currently have six tight ends on the 90-man roster, as Hudson joins Jordan Reed, Vernon Davis, Jeremy Sprinkle, Manasseh Garner and Matt Flanagan.

Hudson will wear No. 46.
