Redskins Beat The Packers In Week 3 Matchup

The Washington Redskins are taking on the Green Bay Packers from FedExField in the team's second home game of the season. Check out a running list of the highlights from the game.

On the opening drive, Alex Smith airs it out to receiver Paul Richardson Jr. for a 46-yard touchdown, giving the Redskins an early 7-0 lead over the Green Bay Packers.

Running back Adrian Peterson takes the handoff, makes a move and carries for a 12-yard gain.

Later in the drive, Peterson powers into the end zone, putting the Redskins up 14-0.

With the score, Peterson moves up to seventh all-time on the rushing touchdown list, passing Marshall Faulk and Shaun Alexander.

Backed up to their own six-yard line, Smith finds tight end Jordan Reed for a gain of 34.

Peterson shows off his acceleration and vision, bursting down the sideline for 41 yards on the next play.

On a third down, Smith shows his athleticism by bouncing out of the pocket, scrambling and extending past the first down marker for a gain of seven yards.

Smith and the Redskins cap off a 94-yard drive with a passing touchdown to wide receiver Jamison Crowder, extending the Redskins lead to 21-7.

Late in the second quarter, Smith finds tight end Vernon Davis down the sideline for a 50-yard pass and catch.

Peterson continues his strong first half performance, plunging into the end zone for his second score of the half and giving the Redskins a 28-10 advantage.

Defensive lineman Daron Payne gets to Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers on second down for a big sack in the third quarter of Sunday's contest.

A pass to Green Bay receiver Randall Cobb on 4th-and-2, initially ruled complete, gets overturned to an incomplete pass and gives the Redskins a clutch fourth down stop in the third quarter.

With the Packers trying to battle back in the fourth quarter, Fabian Moreau strips Randall Cobb. Josh Norman then recovers the fumble, creating a crucial turnover late in the game.
