Hi Redskins Fans!
I just finished up my journey on the 2018 Australian Superbowl Tour! What an incredible experience!
We arrived in Alice Springs, Australia for the second half of my tour and were able to visit the Reptile Center, which was super fun! After visiting the center, we arrived at the Det 421 Air Force Station. We took a tour of their facility and were able to talk with the officers. Their facility is secluded, so the troops were very excited to have us on base. After touring the base we were able to take a trip to the MacDonnell Mountain Range. It was so cool to see the outback and climb the mountain to an incredible view. Alice Springs is absolutely beautiful. We continued touring to the Anzac Hill that overlooked the spring area and visited the Emily Gap, which are small gaps in the Heavitree Range. They contain interesting Aboriginal paintings and are important spiritual sites to the Eastern Arrernte Aboriginal people.
Our tour group held a football and dance clinic for the servicemen and women along with their families. A lot of families came out sporting their favorite teams during the clinic. I was so happy to see some of my Redskins Fans all the way in Australia! Hanging out with the kids was so much fun. I had to opportunity to teach some young girls a few dance moves and watch them perform. They had such a blast and I am so happy I was able to give back to them.
We were able to watch the Superbowl in a movie theater that was rented out to the residents of Alice Springs. Myself and my NFL sisters performed two routines for the crowd. I was able to sit down and chat with more servicemen and women, which meant so much to me. Some of these military men and women haven't seen their family in such a long time, so it was great to bring a piece of home to them.
One of my favorite experiences on this tour was visiting the Kangaroo Sanctuary. We got to walk around the sanctuary in the outback with the troops. This Kangaroo Rescue Center started in 2005 where they rescue orphaned Kangroos and adult Kangaroos. Their mission is to educate and encourage people to rescue and care for kangaroos. This was such a cool experience!
We ended the trip with a nice dinner with some of the servicemen and women where we received challenge coins. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to visit these men and women. Thank you so much to Armed Forces Entertainment and ProTour Productions for this amazing journey. I will always cherish these memories!
Hail to the Redskins!
