  • Led the team and was fifth in the Big Ten with 116 tackles as a senior, becoming just the 20th Nittany Lion in the program’s 123-year history to eclipse 100 tackles in a season.
  • Selected second-team All-Big 10 and was a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American selection for two consecutive years, becoming one of just eight players in Penn State history to earn first-team Academic All-America honors twice.
  • Helped Penn State lead all FBS schools in first-team Academic All-Americas for the second consecutive year with a 3.58 grade-point average.
  • Was part of a defense that did not allow a 100-yard rusher in the final 17 games of his career.



  • Was a standout linebacker and fullback at Penns Valley (Pa.) H.S.
  • Was a three-year starter, serving as a team captain as a senior.
  • Selected first-team all-conference on defense after his senior season and was a team captain in the 2006 Lezzer Lumber Classic.
  • Was also a three-year letterman on the baseball team, earning first-team all-conference accolades as an outfielder.
