  • Selected second-team All-Big Ten by conference coaches, and earned honorable mention form the media.
  • Started just two games a junior while battling injuries, but started at during a 37-6 win over No. 5 Michigan State.
  • Helped running back Marcus Coker rush for 219 yards in the 2010 Insight Bowl, which earned Coker Offensive MVP for the game.


  • Attended Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Ill., where he was named first ream all-state and all-conference as a senior.
  • Played both offense and defense for several seasons and helped lead his team to a 2005 state championship.
  • As a defensive lineman he recorded 29 tackles and eight sacks in two seasons.
  • As offensive tackle and center, he had 149 pancake blocks, with a career-high 69 as a senior.
  • Blocked three kicks as a junior and four as a senior.
  • He also lettered in basketball and track & field. He placed second in the shot put at the state meet  in 2005.
  • In 2012, led young Redskins fans through an excercise station at the WRCF Play 60 Mini-Combine.
  • In 2013, attended the Salute to Play 60 Military Challenge kickoff event at Joint Base Andrews and also participated in Ryan Kerrigan's first Blitz for the Better Foundation fundraising event.
