Jonathan Allen had quite the eventful April as the Redskins' first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but not before making a special selection of his own. The former Alabama defensive lineman proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Hannah Franklin, just 11 days before the draft.  

According to Allen, the two had known each other for three years before he decided it was time to pop the question stating, “I’m truly blessed to have been able to find the person I want to spend the next 60 years of my life with.”

The eventful moment was captured on video and shared on Allen’s Instagram page.

Less than two weeks later, Franklin joined Allen in walking the red carpet at the NFL Draft in Philadelphia and stood by his side for an additional important moment in his life.

As the 17^th-overall pick, Allen is excited start a life and career with his home team as well as his bride to be.
