Alex Smith Meets John Wall At Wizards Game

Redskins quarterback Alex Smith is still in the honeymoon stage of his tenure with the Redskins. Case in point, he sat courtside at the Wizards game last night.

Before he returns to work at the facility next week with his teammates, he needed to get a taste of his new home's sports scene. It is, after all, that time of year when fans in the Washington, D.C., area start preparing for the playoffs, and so the city's other affiliate teams begin to lend their support and ingratiate themselves within another sports community.

Smith, who has been in Kansas City since 2013, hasn't had that opportunity aside from cheering on the Royals, whose playoff pushes a few years ago obviously occurred in the heart of the football season.

So, as Smith shook hands with point guard John Wall at the conclusion of the Wizards' victory over the Celtics, he began a synergy he hasn't had the opportunity to create since his playing days in San Francisco.

Smith got some face time on the video board during the game and briefly walked through a victorious postgame locker room. Maybe he can begin swaying Wall's allegiance away from the Cowboys. A handshake is a good start.
