Drive Of The Game: Cousins Rushes For A Touchdown On Quick Drive

*This week's Redskins Drive of the Game, presented by Ford, was a two-play, 20-yard drive capped by a Kirk Cousins touchdown, the team's only one of the day. *

The Redskins offense didn't have much success in their 18-10 loss to the Giants to close out the 2017 season on Sunday afternoon. Understandably, its one moment of breakthrough came because of some momentum on defense.

Linebacker Preston Smith intercepted quarterback Eli Manning on a short pass and returned it eight yards to the Giants' 20-yard line, prime position for the Redskins to jump back into game during the first quarter.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins began with a short pass to running back Kapri Bibbs for eight yards before deciding to end the drive on the very next play.

In shotgun, Cousins pulled off his signature zone-read quarterback keeper, faking a handoff to Bibbs and sprinting with the football to his left, narrowly avoiding Giants defenders at the goal line and sneaking past the pylon for the 12-yard score.

The Redskins took advantage of the turnover but weren't able to connect on any more touchdowns for the rest of the game.

"Yeah I think sometimes that happens when things aren't going well, you try to force the issue sometimes a little bit and he wanted to give receivers an opportunity to make some plays and unfortunately it didn't happen," head coach Jay Gruden said. "So trying to force a big play sometimes makes matters worse and that's something that happened today."
