Redskins linebacker Adam Hayward is making sure he does everything in his power to recover and get stronger.

The team placed him on injured-reserve Nov. 24, the day after the team’s Week 12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, in which he suffered a tibial plateau fracture in his right leg.

“It killed me,” said Hayward, who missed the last five games of 2014. “I love the game. I love playing.”

Well, Hawyard, with two weeks of offseason voluntary workouts complete, is making sure he continues to do everything in his power to get better and play again.

Friday he tweeted out some pictures for proof, utilizing a sub-zero cryogenic sauna after training.

During the first week of practices, Hayward said his leg feels great, although there are a few minor things he needs to “polish up” during the next several weeks. He said he’ll be ready to go – and, of course, missing any more games is not in his plans.

“I’m excited to get down [to the weight room] and lead these guys again,” Hayward said ,“To have fun and just win this year, man.”

The cryosauna, as it’s sometimes called, is a high tech machine using freezing temperatures to accelerate the body’s metabolism, boost the immune system and help increase strength.

According to Texas Cryotherapy, “It also helps the body recover after intense exercise by flushing out the muscles and delivering oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. It can also be used as part of a training program to enhance sporting performance.”

Sounds like Hayward knows what he’s doing.
