--Despite seven turnovers, the Redskins had a chance to win vs. the Falcons but fell short 27-26.

--Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins preformed well vs. Atlanta, throwing for 381 yards and three touchdowns in his first start this year but the Redskins lost the turnover battle and the game 27-26.

--Defensive lineman Brian Orakpo continues to play well and leads the team with 10 sacks and had 1.5 sacks vs. the Falcons. Orakpo’s 10 sacks is the first time he has reached double figure sacks since 2009 with 11.

--Redskins left tackle Trent Williams had a ‘light’ knee sprain vs. Atlanta in the first possession of the second quarter, Williams returned and finished the game.

--Running back Alfred Morris spoke on his two fumbles vs. the Falcons and said, “You’ve got to find a way to get better from it, not allow it to happen.”

--Head coach Mike Shanahan spoke about his team’s play after a tough 27-26 loss in which Shanahan decided to go for two and the win but could not convert the two-point conversion. When asked about his future with the team Shanahan decided to walk away from the podium.

--Quarterback Robert Griffin III was in good spirits, despite being inactive vs. the Falcons. Backup quarterback Rex Grossman said, “He’s handled it with class.”

--A list of inactive Redskins players vs. the Falcons, it was the first time that linebackers Darryl Tapp and Brandon Jenkins were inactive in the same game.

--Sonny Jurgensen spoke on ESPN 980 and thinks that head coach Mike Shanahan will be back next season. Jurgensen said, “I think he will come back, I don’t think it’s something that is too late (to repair).”

--The best and worst plays from the Redskins-Falcons game including Kirk Cousins 80 yard drive to score a touchdown with less than 20 seconds left.

--Quarterback Kirk Cousins shoulders the blame for the 27-26 loss to the Falcons. Cousins said, “There were just a couple times—two, three, four plays in the whole game—where I made a mistake and it cost us.”

--Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan was pleased with the effort of the team and his quarterback’s play. The team fought hard despite turning the ball over seven times, the seven turnovers was the most by any NFL team this season.

--Wide receiver Pierre Garcon had another impressive game to go along with a career year for the 6th year pro. Garcon had seven catches for 129 yards and a touchdown vs. Atlanta and is 11 catches away from braking the franchise record of 106 receptions in a season held by Art Monk.

--Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins played well even after throwing two interceptions, Cousins led the team on a 13-play, 80-yard scoring drive. Cousins commented on the failed two point conversion and said, “I thought we had them on the ropes.”

--Washington Redskins head coach addressed the media after the Redskins 27-26 loss to the Falcons. Shanahan walked out when he was asked about what he can do to stop the controversial reports from coming out.

--Ten observations from the Redskins-Falcons game including the play of the Redskins defense who forced six punts, three sacks and a forced fumble.
