--The Washington Redskins were granted a one-week roster exemption on Tuesday and released defensive lineman Phillip Merling and kicker John Potter.

--Defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins and outside linebacker Rob Jackson served their four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s drug policy and now they are back at practice and ready to help the team.

--After an MRI on Monday, Redskins tight end Logan Paulsen was diagnosed with a Grade 2 sprained MCL.

--A reporter answers questions about the Redskins and league rules such as how new rules affect tackling techniques.

--With a roster exemption granted by the NFL, the Redskins worked out 18 players on Tuesday.

--The Raiders hurt the Redskins by blocking a punt and converting a fake punt but Redskins special teams coach Keith Burns understands that patience and hard work will lead to improved play

--Five updates from head coach Mike Shanahan before the team takes time off for their bye week, this bye week is the earliest since 2005 when it came in week 3.

--The Washington Redskins come in a No. 25 on ESPN’s power rankings.
