'Touchdown For Tots' Toy Drive This Sunday

Posted Dec 4, 2012

The Redskins are preparing for several holiday initiatives and are looking for your support with gift and monetary donations outside the stadium this Sunday!

The Washington Redskins are embarking on several initiatives to give back to the community throughout the holiday season. From donating new and used toys to keeping area youth warm with new winter coats, the Redskins are doing their part to positively impact the D.C. Metro Area.

Touchdown for Tots Toy Drive:

Sunday, Dec. 9 – Redskins vs. Ravens game
FedExField
1600 FedEx Way
Landover, MD 20785

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and the U.S Marine Corps will join forces for the annual “Touchdown for Tots” campaign, a national toy drive benefiting the Toys for Tots Foundation.

Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for children and teens to the game between the Redskins and Ravens on Sunday, Dec. 9.

Local Marines will be stationed at all stadium gates and suites entrances with collection bins to collect toys to distribute to thousands of children and teens in need throughout the D.C. Metro Area this holiday season.

Fans can visit any official Redskins store location or www.redskinsteamstore.com to make a tax-deductible donation to “Touchdown for Tots.” Donation will be added to merchandise total. Every $10 donated will put a new toy in the hands of deserving children in the D.C. Metro Area.

Covered for the Holidays:

Macy’s and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation will donate 300 coats, gloves, scarves and hats to underserved kids from the Washington, D.C. Metro Area at the annual “Covered for the Holidays” event. Redskins players will be in attendance to distribute the winter gear to children in need.

Skins Santa Shoppe:

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and the U.S Marine Corps will transform the Redskins’ locker room into Santa’s toy shop. Redskins players, along with Santa Claus and the Hogettes, will greet and give a toy to more than 1,000 youth in need from over 20 area schools and community groups.
