For today's Throwback Thursday moment presented by Subway, Redskins.com looks back at the Redskins making a trade in 2005 to acquire now-all-time-great wide receiver Santana Moss.

Santana Moss would have never gotten his “Cowboy Killer” nickname had he never joined the Washington Redskins.

On March 10, 2005, the Redskins pulled the trigger on a wide receiver-for-wide receiver trade, sending Laveranues Coles to the New York Jets in exchange for Moss, who had amassed 119 receptions for 1,943 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final two seasons in The Big Apple.

Moss quickly let Redskins fans know that he was in Washington to make a statement, as his two-touchdown performance against the Dallas Cowboys in just his second game will forever be one of the greatest moments in franchise history.

In his first season with the Redskins, the University of Miami product would earn Pro Bowl honors as he totaled 84 receptions for 1,483 yards and nine touchdowns.

Moss would spend 10 seasons in Washington, and he ranks third all-time in franchise history in receptions (581), fourth in receiving yards (7,867) and seventh in receiving touchdowns (47).
