Prior to the start of the Redskins Week 14 matchup with the Ravens, fans were invited to the ultimate NFL shopping experience in the Redskins Style Lounge at FedExField.
Tanya Snyder, wife of Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder and NFL breast cancer awareness spokesperson, along with actress and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete, kicked off the exclusive shopping experience.
“This boutique shopping experience is an exciting opportunity for the Redskins and NFL to team up and reward loyal female fans,” Mrs. Snyder said. “The Redskins Style Lounge showcases merchandise created specifically for our passionate female fans.
An extension of the NFL Women’s Apparel Fit for You platform, the Redskins Style Lounge is a pop-up retail experience that will give female fans a unique opportunity to purchase a variety of Redskins apparel and accessories.
“This is hail to the women, to the female fans of the Washington Redskins on 80th anniversary,” Mrs. Snyder said. “I’m so proud to be here on behalf of the NFL, to bring the merchandise.”
Mrs. Synder made it clear that it is important for the organization to have a strong female fan base and that those fans will be taken care of.
“Our female fans are very important, that’s what today is all about,” Mrs. Snyder said. “To pull this event in and to invite the women in, pamper them, to give them special photos and certainly make sure they know how important they are to the Washington Redskins and the NFL overall.”
Mrs. Peete’s husband, Rodney, was a quarterback for the Redskins during the 1999 season. She explained how excited she was to be back at a game, however that “homegating” is a new way to cheer and celebrate the Redskins organization right from a fans’ home.
“I’m really excited to join along with Tanya Snyder and other women representing NFL homegating and this amazing product,” Mrs. Peete said. “The days of wearing our husband’s big boxy jerseys are over.”
The Redskins Style Lounge was one stop in a series of style lounges that are traveling to only nine NFL cities. New Redskins Women’s Nike Fan Gear, Redskins Lounge Pants from Concept Sports and clothing from Touch by Alyssa Milano were some of the selections provided in the style lounge.
“Over the past few years the NFL has done a great job of providing stylish couture for women, Mrs. Peete said. “We want to look stylish, we want to come and support our team and we want to look cute doing it.”
Showing her true fan ship towards the end of the event, Mrs. Snyder was very confident in the team’s winning ability going into final few games.
“I’m extremely optimistic,” she said. “They know what they have to do.”
