The Redskins have tendered a contract to exclusive rights free agent kicker ![]()

As an exclusive rights free agent, the Redskins had only to offer a contract to Gano to secure his rights for the 2012 season.
Gano, a third-year kicker, converted 31-of-41 field goal attempts in 2011, establishing a career-high. Five of his 10 misses were blocked kicks, so his field goal percentage may have been higher with better protection.
The 31 field goals matched Chip Lohmiller for the second-most field goals made in a season in team history. Lohmiller connected on 31 field goals in 1991.
In Week 9 vs. San Francisco, Gano set a new Redskins record for the longest field goal made when he converted a 59-yard attempt.
Gano, 24, joined the Redskins in December 2009. Since then, he has served as the Redskins' kicker in 36 consecutive games.
