Redskins Re-Sign Safety Jordan Pugh

Posted Oct 23, 2013

On Wednesday, the Washington Redskins announced the re-signing of safety Jordan Pugh, who was on the team between Week 2, 2012 and Week 6, 2013.

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent safety Jordan Pugh.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pugh (5-11, 210) returns to the Redskins after appearing in 16 regular season games and one postseason game with Washington across the 2012-13 seasons before being released on Oct. 15.

He was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft (202nd overall) out of Texas A&M.

He was released by the Panthers on August 31, 2012 and signed by the Redskins for the first time on Sept. 10, 2012.

Pugh, 25, played collegiately at Texas A&M, where he appeared in 50 games with 37 starts. He finished his collegiate career with 221 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and 19 passes defensed.

He attended Plano West H.S. in Plano, Texas., where he was ranked as the nation’s No. 13 cornerback prospect by Scout.com. Pugh was born on Jan. 28, 1988.

He fills the roster spot of Brandon Meriweather, who was placed on the Reserve/Suspended list.
