A list of notes and stats from the Washington Redskins' 27-20 defeat vs. the Detroit Lions at FedExField, presented by BDO by the Numbers, as compiled by Redskins Public Relations.

"Redskins-Lions Tuesday Stats Pack" is presented by BDO by the Numbers. People who know, know BDO.

Team Notes:

  • The Washington Redskins fell to the Detroit Lions, 27-20, in front of an announced crowd of 80,111 people at FedExField on Sunday.
  • The Redskins pushed their NFL-best home sellout streak to 379 games, including both regular season and postseason games.
  • The win was the Lions’ first against the Redskins since the team moved to Washington in 1937. Including postseason play, the Redskins are now 21-1 in home games against the Lions in that time frame.
  • The Redskins posted 20 points for their seventh straight regular season game, dating back to last season. This is the team’s first such stretch since scoring 20 points in each of the first seven games of the 1999 season.
  • The Redskins amassed 420 yards of total offense, surpassing the 400-yard mark for the second consecutive game. It marks the second time in the Shanahan era the Redskins have posted 400 yards in two straight games (Weeks 14-15 of 2012).
  • The Redskins gained a season-high 21 first downs through the air. Washington’s 21 passing first downs were the team’s most since posting 23 passing first downs at Tennessee on Nov. 21, 2010.

Offense Notes:

  • Quarterback Robert Griffin III set career highs in pass attempts (50) and completions (32), finishing the game with 326 passing yards, the second-highest total of his career.
  • Griffin III became the first Redskins quarterback in the Super Bowl era to throw for 300 yards in three consecutive games.
  • The 300-yard passing day was the sixth of Griffin III’s career, tying him with Jason Campbell for sixth-most in team history.
  • Griffin III’s 32 completions were the most by a Redskins quarterback since Campbell completed a team-record 33 passes at Dallas on Nov. 18, 2007.
  • Griffin III surpassed the 4,000 career passing yard mark during the game. He now has 4,175 career passing yards, 15th-most in team history.
  • In the second quarter, running back Alfred Morris scored his second rushing touchdown of the season on a 30-yard run. The touchdown was Morris’ 15th career rushing touchdown.
  • Morris joined Mike Thomas (16 – nine rushing, seven receiving) as the only two Redskins running backs since the 1970 merger to score 15 touchdowns in their first two NFL seasons.
  • Morris is the 16th player in Redskins history to score 15 career rushing touchdowns with the team.
  • Wide receiver Pierre Garçon caught eight passes for 73 receiving yards.
  • Including his eight receptions last week, Garçon has 16 receptions over his last two games, the best two-game reception total of his career. Garçon also has 216 receiving yards in that stretch, his best two-game yardage output since Weeks 4-5 of the 2011 season (271).
  • Garçon recorded a 10-yard rush on the Redskins’ first offensive play, the longest rush of his tenure with the Redskins and his longest since registering an 18-yard rush vs. Jacksonville as a member of the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 13, 2011.
  • Wide receiver Santana Moss caught seven receptions for 77 yards. The seven receptions were his most since catching nine passes vs. the New York Giants on Jan. 2, 2011.
  • Rookie tight end Jordan Reed set a career high for receiving yards (50) on five receptions.

Defense Notes:

  • Linebacker London Fletcher played in his 243rd consecutive regular season game, tying Bill Romanowski for the most by a defensive player since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
  • Fletcher started his 202nd consecutive regular season game, second-most by an NFL linebacker all-time (Derrick Brooks, 208).
  • Fletcher registered a sack on the game’s first offensive play, dropping Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford for a seven-yard loss. The sack was his first of the season and the 38th of his career.
  • Cornerback DeAngelo Hall opened the scoring, returning an interception of Stafford 17 yards for a touchdown.
  • The interception was the 40th of Hall’s career, joining Ed Reed, Charles Woodson, Champ Bailey and Asante Samuel as the only active players to reach 40 career interceptions.
  • The interception was also the 20th of Hall’s tenure with the Redskins, making him the 12th player to record 20 interceptions with the franchise.
  • The interception return for touchdown was the fourth of Hall’s career, his second with the Redskins, and his first since Oct. 24, 2010 at Chicago.
  • The touchdown was Hall’s eighth combined touchdown of his career (four via fumble return, four via interception return).
  • Hall became only the second player in NFL history with at least four interception return touchdowns and four fumble return touchdowns in a career, joining former cornerback Ronde Barber, who was on hand to broadcast the game as an analyst for FOX. Prior to Sunday, Hall had been one of four players in NFL history with at least three interception return touchdowns and four fumble return touchdowns (Hall, Barber, Jason Taylor and Bill Thompson).
  • Hall became the first Redskin to score two defensive touchdowns in a season since he accomplished the feat in 2010. Hall had fumble returns for touchdowns in the season openers of both the 2010 and 2013 seasons.
  • Hall is the first player in Redskins’ history with two defensive touchdowns in the first three games of a season.

Special Teams Notes:

  • Kicker John Potter made his first career field goal in the fourth quarter, converting on a 43-yard attempt on the first drive of the second half.
  • Punter Sav Rocca unleashed a season-long 63-yard punt in the third quarter, his longest since registering a 63-yard punt in Week 11 of the 2011 season vs. Dallas, a span of 24 regular season games.
  • Rocca had three punts downed inside the 20-yard line for the second consecutive week. He now has consecutive games with three punts downed inside the 20-yard line for the first time since Weeks 3-4 of the 2011 season.
