The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent quarterback Pat White. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

White (6-0, 190) was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the second round (44th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins in 2009 before being released by the team on Sept. 4, 2010.

For his career, White has attempted five passes and rushed 21 times for 81 yards (3.9 avg.).

White, 27, played collegiately at West Virginia from 2005-08, where he became one of the program’s most decorated athletes.

He won 34 games as a starter and became the first player in FBS history to win four bowl games as a starting quarterback.

He finished his collegiate career with 6,049 passing yards and 4,480 rushing yards, the latter of which was the record for career rushing yardage by a quarterback at the time of his graduation.

White was born on Feb. 25, 1986.

He attended Daphne (Ala.) H.S., where he earned first-team All-State Class 6-A honors as a senior after rushing for 1,905 yards with 31 touchdowns and throwing for 1,488 yards with 15 passing touchdowns.

He is a four-time draft pick of Major League Baseball, having been selected twice by the Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels (2004 and 2007) and once each by the Cincinnati Reds (2008) and New York Yankees (2009).
