Polumbus Cleared To Play, Active Tonight

Posted Dec 30, 2012

Redskins' right tackle Tyler Polumbus has been cleared to play after suffering a concussion in the team's Week 15 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Redskins' right tackle Tyler Polumbus has been cleared to play after suffering a concussion in the team's Week 15 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Polumbus was held out of last week's contest and was not approved to practice until Friday.

Swing tackle Maurice Hurt started in his place last week against Philadelphia and is available if Polumbus experiences a setback. Rookie tackle Tom Compton has been ruled inactive as well.

Starting strong safety DeJon Gomes will not be available tonight, as he was listed as questionable on Friday with a knee injury. Vetern safety Reed Doughty and Jordan Pugh are available in his place.

Veteran quarterback Rex Grossman is active for just the second time tonight, and the first time with a healthy Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins. Grossman has not taken a snap in a regular season game this year, and is expected to be the third quarterback option.

Here is the full list of Redskins' inactives:

On the Cowboys sideline, All-Pro outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is active after aggravating injuries to his right elbow and shoulder.

Ware is expected to play situationally tonight, after missing 36 snaps in last week's contest. He will be wearing a harness on his shoulder and brace on his elbow for support.

Here is the full list of Cowboys' inactives:

  • No. 34 RB Phillip Tanner
  • No. 60 C/G Kevin Kowalski
  • No. 62 G David Arkin
  • No. 65 G Ronald Leary
  • No. 72 DT Robert Callaway
  • No. 75 T Darrion Weems
  • No. 90 DT Jay Ratliff
