What the quarterback change means for the remainder of the season is uncertain.
Head coach Mike Shanahan will surely discuss the team’s quarterback situation on Monday, if not sooner.
Grossman started the Redskins’ first five games of the season and completed 92-of-165 passes for 1,132 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions. His QB rating was 66.5.
Grossman had a strong start as the Redskins’ starter, but he continued to struggle with turnovers. He threw four interceptions in the Redskins’ 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Overall, Grossman has turned the ball over 13 times – 11 interceptions and two fumbles – in six starts this season.
Beck started the last three games for the Redskins, all losses. The offense has struggled, producing just 11 points in the last two outings.
Beck has completed 80-of-132 passes for 858 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.
