Griffin has practiced with the team since Wednesday, but Shanahan wanted to test his conditioning level before activating him for the playoffs.
"I hope so," Shanahan said. "That's why we got him up."
Griffin joins a secondary that performed well in his absence, as rookie ![]()
To make room for Griffin, the Redskins are placing cornerback Domonique 'D.J.' Johnson on injured reserve for a knee injury sustained in last week's victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

"We'll test him out before the game and do what we think gives us the best chance to win," Shanahan said. "Very similar to [left tackle] ![]()
If Lichtensteiger is unable to play, he would be replaced by rookie guard ![]()
"[LeRibeus] got all the reps, so he got some repetition during the week," Shanahan explained. "A lot of times, guys will go out early and somebody is forced to play that hasn't had the repetition.
"LeRibeus got the reps this week and Kory's got the experience, so we'll see how it is before the game."
