Cousins’ 26 completions matched the Redskins’ season high (26 – Griffin III at Tampa Bay in Week 4).
The game was Cousins’ first 300-yard passing performance and is the fourth 300-yard performance by a Redskins quarterback this season (three by Griffin III, one by Cousins).
With Cousins’ victory on Sunday and Griffin III’s win at New Orleans in Week 1, the Redskins became the first team in a non-strike season to have two different rookie quarterbacks win their first career starts in the same season since rookies John Elway and Gary Kubiak won their starting debuts with the Denver Broncos in 1983.
Fans can vote for Cousins on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 A.M. ET and ending on Friday at 3 P.M. ET to determine the NFL Rookie of the Week.
The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January.
