The Redskins Cheerleaders announced their 2012-13 squad on Saturday following their Final Auditions show at The State Theatre in Falls Church, Va.
This is sure to be a very special year for the Redskins Cheerleaders as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the squad. The First Ladies of Football have a a great tradition and legacy.
This year's Redskins Cheerleaders were chosen from among 250 women. On Saturday, the group was narrowed down to 62 finalists. From there, 40 were chosen for the squad.
The show consisted of a cocktail dress opening with tons of energy and yelling from the crowd for the favorite candidate. There were three different field routines performed by 16 groups as well as sideline routines to various popular songs. The swimsuit walk was the highlight as each girl was given a chance to be introduced to the judges.
The new squad's makeup include women who are Ph.D candidates, assistant principals, triple majors in college, as well as owners of their own companies.
Come meet the new team in person during Draft Day at FedExField on Saturday April 28. The 2012-13 Redskins Cheerleaders will be signing autographs and performing for fans!
