On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, Redskins assistant head coach Bobby Turner addressed the media following afternoon training camp practice at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, Redskins assistant head coach Bobby Turner addressed the media following afternoon training camp practice at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va.

On today’s practice and the absence of Executive Vice President/Head Coach Mike Shanahan:

“I just want to say that Coach Shanahan is not here today. He’s attending a funeral of a very close personal friend. Practice went very well as planned. He had everything planned, every detail. Yesterday he informed the team along with the coaching staff that he was going to attend the funeral. If you have any questions, ask Coach Shanahan. The following players did not practice today: Maurice Hurt, an offensive lineman; Eric Kettani, our fullback; Josh LeRibeus, offensive lineman; and Jordan Reed, our tight end. Those players did not participate today, and again, if you have any questions feel free to talk with Coach Shanahan about that. But that’s the reason he’s not here.”
