Jon Jansen is the senior leader of the Washington Redskins, leading all players with nine consecutive years of service in the burgundy and gold. Last year, he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 1, but is poised for a strong campaign in 2008. Jansen started in all 16 regular-season games in his first five NFL seasons (1999-2003). Nicknamed "The Rock", Jansen has been among the Redskins’ most consistent and reliable players since being drafted by the team in the second round in 1999.

Ruptured his Achilles tendon in the preseason exhibition Hall of Fame Game against Denver (8/9) and missed the entire season
Started 80 consecutive games before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury
Was placed on injured reserve (8/11)
2003 Season:
Started all 16 regular-season games at right tackle for the fifth consecutive season and was team captain
Held Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan to zero sacks and only two tackles vs. New York Giants (9/21)
2002 Season:
Was voted by teammates as the recipient of the NFL’s Unsung Hero Award at the conclusion of the season
Started all 16 regular-season games at right tackle for the fourth consecutive season
2001 Season:
Started all 16 regular-season games at right tackle for the third straight season
Earned a game ball, along with the rest of the offensive line, after the offense rushed for a season-high 226 yards in the Redskins 27-14 win over Seattle (11/4)

Was one of four players on offense to start all 16 regular season games
1999 Season:
Was a valuable addition to an offensive line that allowed 31 sacks compared to a franchise record 61 in 1998
