Andre Carter is an impact player who brings aggressive play to the Redskins defensive line attack. He is an exceptional athlete, who provides the Redskins speed on the edge and play-making ability. In his second season, Carter led all defensive linemen in sacks (10.5) and tackles (67). Carter spent his first five NFL seasons (2001-05), playing both defensive end and linebacker with the San Francisco 49ers. As a student-athlete at California, Carter spent the summer helping his father, Rubin, who was a defensive line coach for the Redskins in 1999 and 2000.
