Harrison Bernstein enters his third season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
He joins John Hastings and Bobby Crumpler in developing and overseeing the Redskins’ strength and conditioning program in preparation for the upcoming season.
Bernstein received his C.S.C.S. (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) degree from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and briefly played Indoor Professional Football while coaching defense for Fair Lawn High School’s football team.
Following that, he pursued his passion for teaching athletes and became Assistant Managing Director for the Parisi Speed School in northern New Jersey.
In 2004, Bernstein moved to Washington, DC to start an athletic training business that developed a web-based fitness management system.
His coaching techniques were employed department-wide at Georgetown University and attracted the attention of the Washington Redskins. In 2004, the Redskins contracted him to provide sprinting instruction for the off-season strength and conditioning program.
Bernstein received his Bachelor’s degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University.
While playing football at JHU, he received All-America honors for three consecutive years and was named The Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the year in 1997.
