Bobby Crumpler enters his seventh season with the Redskins. He joins John Hastings and Harrison Bernstein in overseeing the Redskins strength and conditioning efforts.
They have implemented a disciplined and individualized conditioning program that will have the Redskins in peak form for the 2009 season.
Crumpler will also direct the Redskins’ player development program in 2009. During the offseason, Crumpler coordinates an internship program that assists players in locating and securing opportunities to help them earn practical job experience that may lead to a second career when it comes time to leave the playing field. He also works closely with players in family assistance and financial programs.
Prior to joining the Redskins, Crumpler spent seven years coaching on the collegiate level, most recently at the University of Kansas, where he helped build the strength and conditioning program for Jayhawks football in 2002.
Crumpler spent 12 seasons at his alma mater North Carolina State, where he served in the strength and conditioning department in virtually every capacity including student assistant (1989), graduate assistant (1994-96) and full-time assistant coach (2000-01).
Crumpler was a standout running back for North Carolina State from 1983-87. He won the Dick Christy Award as a junior in 1986, finishing the season as the team’s leading rusher, and playing a key role in leading the team to a Peach Bowl berth. As a senior in 1987, he was the Wolfpack’s co-captain and MVP.
A 1989 North Carolina State graduate in industrial technology education, Crumpler is working towards his master’s degree in sports management.
He and his wife, Stacey, have four children: sons Gabe and Chayce and daughters Alexis and Brianna.
