Title: Quality Control-Offense
NFL Seasons 6
Years With Team: 3

Bill Khayat is in his third season as the Redskins offensive quality control coach, and also assists with the tight ends.

In his role helping with the tight ends, Khayat has contributed to the development of 2008 second round draft pick Fred Davis, as well as the continued emergence of 2008 Pro Bowl tight end Chris Cooley.

Before coming to the Redskins in 2007, Khayat spent the previous three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (2004-06) in the same capacity. During his time in Arizona, Khayat also assisted with the offensive line.

Prior to joining the Cardinals in 2004, Khayat spent four seasons at Tennessee State as the school’s running backs coach and recruiting coordinator (2003) and tight ends coach and video coordinator (2000-02).

A standout tight end at Duke University from 1992-95, Khayat was twice named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team, was an honorable mention All-America pick in 1994 and was named to the All-Carolina team that same year.

Khayat became the first Duke tight end to lead the team in receptions in 25 years. He set the Hall of Fame Bowl game record with 11 receptions for 109 yards against Wisconsin.

Despite missing most of his senior season with a groin injury, Khayat still finished his collegiate career with 105 receptions for 1,155 yards and seven touchdowns.

After graduating from Duke, Khayat spent time in the NFL on the practice squads with Kansas City (1996) and Carolina (1997), and in 1998 he played for the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe.

Born March 26, 1973 in Camden, N.J., Khayat was a three-sport star at York Catholic High School in York, Pennsylvania.

In addition to being an all-state football player, he was the starting center for the state champion basketball team and an all-county selection as a catcher for the school’s baseball team.

He was honored by his high school when his football jersey (No. 30) was retired in 1991 and he was named the outstanding student-athlete. In 2002, Khayat was elected to the York Catholic High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Khayat credits his father Eddie who played 10 years (three of them with the Redskins) and coached 25 years in the NFL, for helping to develop his knowledge and appreciation of the game.

His mother, Deborah, is an accomplished writer who graduated with honors from The Catholic University, in Washington, D.C.

Khayat earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological anthropology and anatomy from Duke in 1995. He was on the Distinguished Dean’s List at Duke and was named to the Academic All-ACC Football team.
