Hello Redskins Fans,
My name is Talmesha. I am 28 years old. I am currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins Medical School, pursuing a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. The focus of my research is breast cancer. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. in Mathematics.
This is my second year with the First Ladies of Football but previously, I had the opportunity to perform at FedEx Field with my college dance team at Redskins halftime shows. One of the highlights was during Monday Night Football. I will never forget the bright lights and cheering fans. At that moment I thought to myself: "Halftime isn’t enough...I want to experience this energy the entire game." While this is my second year as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader, I am a 5 year veteran of the NFL. I spent 3 wonderful years with the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders.
I loved dancing as a child. However, I didn’t start taking dance classes until middle school where I also played basketball and ran track. Well...the rest is history. Aside from professional cheerleading, I am a member of a dance company, Capitol Movement Inc. In addition to dancing and choreographing, I also love music and reality TV. My favorite music artists are New Edition, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson. My favorite TV shows are "America’s Next Top Model," "Project Runway," and "So You Think You Can Dance."
My accomplishments would not have been possible without God and the love and support of my family. I am truly blessed with family and friends who have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Mom, Dad, Tene, Frank and Charlie, thanks for always being there for me.
My experience with the Redskins has been a dream and it has allowed me to combine two of my favorite hobbies: dancing and traveling. Among the places I travelled are Hong Kong, Aruba, Marco Island and the Hall of Fame Game in Canton. I have also been able to entertain the troops both locally in the Washington DC metro area and abroad in the Netherlands, Germany and England.
I am proud to be a member of the First Ladies of Football and look forward to another great season cheering on the Redskins with the best fans in the NFL.
Hail to the Redskins,
