To all my fellow Redskins Fans,

My name is Malyndah, I’m 23 years old, and as a rookie Washington Redskins Cheerleader, I am anticipating the start of the season to cheer on the amazing Redskins! I am honored to be a part of a team with such strength and endurance; performing their best under all circumstances. This group of talented women has not only offered support for the Redskins team, but has opened their hearts to participate within various community service ventures. I am eagerly awaiting my first season with these ladies and growing into a well-rounded woman with their influence.

Throughout the years growing up in North Potomac, my family and I would constantly cheer for the Redskins during every game. I have grown accustomed to this tradition and hope to continue as a new member of the WRC squad. I would like to consider myself an all American girl, although my parents have a diverse background, considering I love to watch football. Growing up as a first generation Asian American, I integrated American culture with the cultures of my parents. My mother’s background includes various ethnicities, including Indonesian and Dutch, and my father’s Indonesian. This distinct mixture of different cultures sparked my interest in studying international business at the University of Maryland.

Juggling between school, work, and cheering can be tough at times so I’m constantly busy. But I manage my time wisely to have the free time to enjoy life. During my spare time, I am often spending it with the ones I love, cooking and baking in the kitchen, working out, trying out restaurants within the city, or traveling to random parts of the world visiting museums and beautiful beaches. I love fashion, so shopping is what I do best! Other times, I am relaxing at home with a good movie or contemplating life while listening to music. I enjoy a variety of music from hip-hop, r&b, rap, and house, to soft rock.

Lastly, I want to thank my parents and sisters for being my support system. My family is the most important people in my world. I also want to thank my best friends for all of their support. Most importantly, I thank god for the blessings, for sharing with me all of the good in this world, all the joys in my life, leading me through trials and fears to success, and giving me the strength to come this far. 

I look forward to a great season cheering on the Redskins with the best fans in the NFL.
