Hi Redskins Fans!
I’m Katie and I am in my second year cheering for the best team in the NFL with the “First Ladies of Football”! What an experience being with this organization!! The opportunities are endless. I have had the honor to cheer at the Hall of Fame game, perform for the troops at Fleet Week in NYC, represent the Washington Redskins in Hong Kong for their New Year’s celebration, and travel to Aruba and Marco Island for the calendar shoots. The best place to be though is on the sidelines in front of the fans and feeling the energy when the Redskins do their thing! You all are the best, most intense fans ever!!!
As a Coast Guard baby, I was born in Boston, lived in Rhode Island and New Jersey, but have called Virginia my home for the past 17 years. I am a senior at George Mason University majoring in Dance and minoring in Tourism and Events Management. I will graduate in May with a BFA. I plan to continue at the Masters level in a Public Relations area.
I have been dancing for 17 years and have been fortunate to perform in many incredible places like Royal Caribbean and Carnival cruises, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Disney World and the Warner Theater. Prior to being a Redskins cheerleader, I danced with the Washington Wizards Dancers. I have taken classes from well known choreographers, attended the Rockette Intensive, and Destination Broadway in NYC. I also attended the Richmond Ballet on scholarship and have received dance scholarships to Broadway Dance Center, Performing Arts Center in LA, and Shake the Floor.
I have also dabbled in acting and modeling. I have appeared in dinner theater shows such as “The Sound of Music,” “The Spider’s Web” and “South Pacific” as well as several children’s theater shows. I have modeled for dance catalogs and was the cover girl for a Wolff-Fording Dance catalog.
A few interesting tidbits about me are that when I was in high school, I was on the cheerleading squad that won the Virginia State Championships! As a teen, I also won the title of Virginia Teen Dance Champion at a dance competition.
My family and friends are very important to me. As an only child, I am very close to my cousins (love you Emily!!). Spending time with my family, traveling, going to the beach and meeting new people are my favorite things to do. I also teach dance in the Stafford and Manassas areas.
I have been very fortunate in my life, and enjoy giving back to the community on behalf of the Redskins organization
See you at the game!
Hugs,
