Hello Fellow Redskins Fans ~
I am extremely excited for my first season as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader! It is an honor to cheer for the best team in the NFL along with such independent, bright, and uniquely beautiful women. As a native of Northern Virginia and the daughter of native Washingtonians, I have always considered the Redskins my “Home Team.” Now, I have been granted the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the Redskins with all of YOU at FedEx Field! So far, the experience of being a “First Lady of Football” has been a blast. Our involvement in the community with appearances, charity events, and children’s activities has allowed me to appreciate and respect my role as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader. At the end of May, we traveled to beautiful Marco Island on the gulf coast of Florida to shoot our 2009-2010 Swimsuit Calendar. It was awesome to watch all my fellow teammates work the camera at their personal photo shoots!
Dancing has been a part of my life since grade school where I began taking jazz and ballet classes. In middle school, I joined a local dance company where I performed and competed in various styles of jazz, ballet, and lyrical. I was on the dance team my freshman year of high school and switched over to cheerleading sophomore through senior year.
I have spent the past seven years living in Charleston, South Carolina. I moved back to the DC area last November for a great job opportunity as a Senior Account Representative for a digital marketing company. I attended the College of Charleston and graduated in 2007, receiving a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. From 2007 through 2008, I spent my time traveling, enjoying the laid back lifestyle of the South, and perfecting my golf game--my passion! During the “high golf season” of those two years, I was the only female golf caddie on the championship courses of Kiawah Island.
Although leaving the Low Country has been a difficult transition, I am glad to be home because becoming a Redskins Cheerleader has been one of my most rewarding and challenging achievements. I anticipate a great season from the Redskins and I will be cheering ‘em on the whole way. Much love and thanks to all of my family members, friends, and fans…see you at FedEx!
Best wishes and warmest regards,
Donna
