My name is Chastity, a.k.a. Chasmataz. I’m 29 years old and I grew up in Northern Virginia. I began cheering in middle school and then continued on through high school. I’m proud to give a shout out to Gar-Field Senior High School for being the first-ever VHSL State Cheerleading Champs in ’97.
I went to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where I continued to cheer and dance under director, coach, and choreographer Vicki Wells, who was also a Redskins Cheerleader back in 1996! I also joined the IBL, (International Basketball League,) in 1999 where I was line captain for the Richmond Rhythm.
I took a year off from dance and cheer to start a family. My son was born Dec 3rd of 2001 and by January 9th of 2002, I joined Arena Football league’s Richmond Speed. I moved back home to Northern Virginia the following summer and in April of 2005, I became a Washington Redskins cheerleader.
My life has never been the same!
Since that time I have grown so much, not just as a performer, but as a person. I have traveled all over the United States, visited four different Countries, and made life-long friends. I was fortunate to be chosen to represent the First Ladies of Football at the NFL’s Super Bowl Cheerleading challenge in 2006 where we won the title of Super Bowl Cheerleading Champions! As a Redskins Cheerleader, I was awarded most outstanding performer of the year in 2008. In November of 2007, I spent my 28th birthday and Thanksgiving overseas in Iraq entertaining the troops. We visited 21 (FOB) forward operation bases in just 9 days. While on tour I realized just how much I enjoyed performing!
Aside from my career, I enjoy and value family time. I love to sing. I enjoy eating out with friends and I love being out on the water. Every chance I get I like to travel. My son is my number one joy in this world and I thank God and my family for everything I have in life. What can I say, I am blessed!
