My name is Buffy and I am thrilled to be back for my second season cheering for the best team in the NFL! I am originally from Potomac, Maryland, so the Redskins have always had a special place in my heart. Being able to be on the sidelines during the games and dancing with the team have been a dream come true.
I have been dancing since the age of two, everything from ballet to tap. I was fortunate enough to train with such amazing studios as Dawn Crafton Dancers, Maryland Youth Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. I was on the dance team at Boston University & captain of my dance team at Mt. St. Mary’s University. Upon graduation, I continued to dance as part of the Washington Wizards Dance Team for three years. Dance has always been a very important part of my life and I knew even after taking a year off to have my twins (girl and boy!) I wanted to continue to perform, but try a different venue. The Redskins were the obvious choice!
Although performing is my true passion, one of my favorite parts of being a Redskins cheerleader is the community service work we are able to do throughout the year. Whether visiting wounded soldiers at Andrew’s Air Force Base, or families at Children’s Hospital, it has been a rewarding and amazing experience. I am so honored to share time with such wonderful individuals in our community.
This past year I was able to travel to Europe to perform for our troops. In addition to the European tour, I spent my birthday on the way to Hong Kong to perform for the Chinese New Year celebrations. I can honestly say though, that after traveling all over the world there is nowhere I would rather be than at FedEx with you on game day!
When I am not on the sidelines, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Cooking, baking, running and playing with my twins top the list of my favorite activities and I’m looking forward to participating in my first marathon this year. I would just like to thank my wonderful family and friends for all their love and support. I am truly blessed! Of course game day wouldn’t be the same without the fans; you all are definitely the best in the NFL! I’ll be looking for you in the stands :)
