My name is Amanda and I am honored to be a rookie Washington Redskins Cheerleader! I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and for as long as I can remember I’ve been a performer-at-heart and a bit of a daredevil.
I started gymnastics when I was six years old, where I spent the next six years swinging and tumbling to new heights. I quickly learned strict self discipline and the rewards of pushing my body and mind to new limits! I retired from competitive gymnastics at the age of 13 as a level 10. After gymnastics I took up cheerleading and fitness competitions to keep busy and physically conditioned. In high school I was the captain of my cheerleading squad and when I wasn’t cheering I spent my time at the track mastering the pole vault…once again, that daredevil thing came into play!
I went on to earn my B.A. in communications with a marketing concentration at Virginia Tech. I cheered competitively for two years in college on an all female squad. I also spent all four years coaching VT’s youth gymnastics program and dabbling in commercial and print modeling to help pay for school.
Currently, when I’m not on the field, at practice, or volunteering in the community, I spend my time as a consultant for a world-class lecture bureau and event design firm. I have the unique opportunity to meet “thought leaders” from all over the globe on a weekly basis and I do my best to absorb their wisdom.
If I had to sum my life up in four short words they’d be, “Work hard, play hard.” I have an indescribable love for life and everything in it and I truly believe that with hard work, and a clear vision, anything is possible! At the end of every day only YOU can look yourself in the mirror and know you’ve given it your “all!
I’m blessed to have the most amazing family who encouraged the confidence and the drive behind all of my accomplishments. Thank you mom and dad, you are my world! I am thrilled to be cheering for the best franchise in the NFL and can’t wait to see you all at FedEx Field!
