The 2009 Audition will begin Saturday, March 28, 2009. You can expect the Audition Prep Classes to begin in February 2009 with auditions start at the end of March or early April 2009.
If you are interested in taking adult dance classes prior to the prep classes beginning please go to www.capitolmovement.org for information regarding classes being taught by Stephanie Jojokian or Choreographers recommended by the Redskins Cheerleaders.
- The Auditions will begin Saturday, March 28, 2009.
- Applicants attending the Prep Classes: application must be received on or before the date of your first class.
- Applicants may turn application in at registration desk the day of auditions.
- Include a check or money order for the registration fee ($25.00) or the fee of the Prep Classes you are attending ($25.00 each or $300.00 for a full session) payable to the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders with the application. Between the week of March 23-27, only Cash or Money Order will be accepted.
- If you attend any of the Prep Classes, you DO NOT have to pay the registration fee.
- Include a non-returnable recent photo of yourself with the application (any type of photo, you are not judged on the photo you send in, it is for identification purposes only).
- Send a signed copy of the audition waiver with your application.
- All finalists must have a medical release statement from a doctor by the day of final 4/4 auditions. Stating you are in excellent physical condition and able to participate in strenuous activity at least four to five times a week.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old, on or before April 24, 2009.
- Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D by June 2009.
- If you become a Washington Redskins Cheerleader you must have a full/part-time job, be a full-time college student or have a family.
- Washington Redskins Cheerleaders must have their own transportation.
- All judges’ decisions are final.
- The 2009 Washington Redskins Cheerleaders will be traveling to an exotic location for the photo shoot of our 2010 Swimsuit Calendar. All squad members are required to attend. (Shorter trips are available to accommodate those with conflicting schedules.) Dates will be announced by the end of March and are usually in May or June.
- The Redskins Cheerleaders Ambassadors are the promotional gameday group of the Redskins Cheerleaders. They will not appear in the 2010 calendar, but will be involved in various photo shoots and promotions throughout the year.
- Redskins Cheerleader Ambassadors will be selected from various rounds of the Auditions, not just those who make the Finals. The Ambassadors will receive a phone call from the Director the Week of April 14th telling them they have been selected and will be given further instructions at that time. If you wish to ONLY be considered to be an Ambassador, you only need to attend the FIRST round of the auditions and will not be asked to dance.
