Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year

Each week during the high school football season, the Redskins select one area high school head coach as the Redskins High School Coach of the Week. Each of the coaches selected receives a $1,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund to their football program and a certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan. At the end of the high school season, the Redskins will select one area coach as the Coach of the Year, who will receive a $2,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund to their football program and a framed certificate. NFL Youth Tackle Football programs help children and their families enjoy the football experience every time they step on a field. Our programs are also a resource for coaches, helping them promote a positive experience for all participants. We encourage everyone to participate and have fun! USA Football Month, which occurs annually during the month of August, includes youth football clinics and recognition of youth football athletes at a Redskins preseason football game.
