Redskins Read uses the excitement and community influence of Redskins players to promote literacy through the production and distribution of an activity book, player reading appearances, a children’s book drive and literacy contests. The Charitable Foundation partners with corporations, non-profits and schools to encourage and incentivize students to explore the joys of reading and the power of imagination. Live Well

Play 60

The Play 60 campaign is a health and fitness initiative focused on increasing the wellness of young fans by encouraging them to be active for 60 minutes a day. The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation brings players, alumni and youth together for opportunities to be physically active through hosting Play 60 mini-combines and the Play 60 Super School Visit.

Hometown Huddle

The NFL-United Way Hometown Huddle is designed to bring awareness to the issues of youth health and fitness. As a part of the initiative, The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Redskins players teamed up with the United Way of the National Capital Area and Lake Arbor Elementary School to host a health and fitness clinic. Since the NFL-United Way Hometown Huddle program launched in 1999, the Washington Redskins have built youth fitness zones, hosted youth football clinics, rebuilt neighborhood playgrounds and upgraded fitness facilities.

Flag Football Clinic

In support of Coca-Cola's "Live Positively: Get the Ball Rolling" campaign, the Redskins Charitable Foundation presented a flag football clinic for 200 area middle school students. Redskins players served as honorary coaches and quarterbacks as the kids spent the afternoon at Redskins Park being physically active and learning about the importance of healthy living.

4th & Life

Coca-Cola and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation annually host this popular forum for high school football players. The event provides a forum for the student athletes to get up close and personal with their on-field heroes. Redskins Players speaking at the forums represent a broad range of experience and backgrounds that allow them to connect with the student-athletes.

Coaches in the Classroom

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Coaches in the Classroom program, with support from Athlife Mentoring, places Academic Advisors for Athletics at area high schools throughout the region. The advisors help student athletes create an academic game plan and prepare them to go on to college, while promoting the ideals of positive youth development through sport.

WRCF Scholarship Fund

Each year, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation offers one high-potential, low-income student-athlete a $25,000 college scholarship. The Scholarship, administered by our partner, the College Success Foundation – District of Columbia, provides one deserving student in either the District of Columbia or Prince George’s County, MD with a college scholarship that is disbursed in $5,000 increments annually. The DC College Success Foundation has established a strong working scholarship model that places scholarship recipients in a mentoring program that requires the student to work with a mentor during their freshman year to help ensure success.

Bank of America Harvest Feast presented by Ryan Homes

Since 2003, the Redskins staff joins with players and their families to help make the holidays a bit brighter for our fans. As a team, the Washington Redskins ownership, players, alumni and Foundation partners, distributes turkeys and packaged groceries to underserved families in Prince George’s County, Maryland. This annual event is made possible through the generous support of the Team and our corporate and non-profit partners.

Covered for the Holidays presented by Macy's

Early in December, Macy’s creates a winter wonderland to provide the ultimate coat-shopping experience for hundreds of deserving children. With our Redskins players, cheerleaders and the wives of coaches and players serving as personal shoppers, each child selects a brand new winter coat. This annual event is made vent more special for our participants, with each receiving a hat, scarf and gloves, a plush toy, balloon art and a chance to write a letter to Santa.

Touchdown for Tots

Annually, The Redskins and U.S. Marine Corps host Touchdown for Tots at FedExField. Fans bring new, unwrapped toys to the collection bins around the stadium. This year, our Toys for Tots Game will be Week 16 vs Philadelphia Eagles. Fans that don’t bring a toy can donate to the cause.


Skins Santa Shoppe

Skins Santa Shoppe annually provides holiday presents to area youth that otherwise would have gone without gifts. With the toys collected from "Touchdown for Tots", the locker room is transformed into Santa's Toy Shoppe and children attending select a brand new toy with the help of Redskins celebrity helpers and the United States Marines.
