Guidelines

Washington Redskins players are committed to supporting the Washington area community and make numerous community appearances throughout the year. The following procedures and guidelines are designed to help with your player appearance request.

Due to the overwhelming number of appearance requests we receive, and the busy practice schedules of the team, we cannot fulfill every player appearance request.

Generally, the Redskins are only able to accommodate appearance requests from the metro Washington DC, area. (Preferably, within a 45-mile radius of our training facility, Redskins Park, located in Ashburn, Virginia, which is near Dulles Airport).

All player appearance requests should be made in writing on your organization's letterhead at least 8 weeks prior to the event date. No telephone, fax or email requests will be accepted.

Please include the following information with your request:

• Organization name, full mailing address and telephone number
• Type of event or program
• Indicate if the event is a charitable fund-raiser and, if so, where the funds being donated
• Contact person and contact telephone number
• Day, date, time, length and location of event
• Player, coach or staff member requested for event
• Specific role of Redskins player or staff member
• Number of people attending event
• Type of audience (i.e. students, adults, athletes etc.)
• Approximate travel time from Redskin Park, in Ashburn, VA

Upon receipt of your player appearance request, you will be notified with a letter of response two weeks prior to the event. If your request is approved, we will also contact you via phone to schedule the appearance logistics.

Appearance Criteria

Due to the overwhelming number of player appearance requests, the team tries to ensure that each player appearance will have a significant impact upon the community. Therefore we adhere to the following criteria when scheduling the very limited number of player appearances:

• Preference will be given to events which involve direct interaction with kids
• No Career Days (The chances of an NFL career are extremely slim)
• Clear role for the player in the event (read books, hand out awards, question and answer)
• Maximize player time (large number of kids influenced by visit)

Redskins Player Schedule
Off-Season

• January - February - Players are generally not available for appearances due to vacation schedules and out of state residencies.
• March - June - Players typically report for off-season workouts and are available on a limited basis in the afternoons.
• July - August - No appearances will be scheduled during Training Camp.

In-Season

• September - December - During the NFL season, players are available on a very limited basis. Tuesdays are the players' only day off from practice. Player availability generally falls on Tuesday afternoons and early evenings. Due to rush hour traffic patterns, appearances are typically scheduled for Tuesday afternoons between 11 am - 3 pm.
• ·It is highly recommended that your event NOT center around an appearance by a player or staff member, but rather that an appearance should be approached as a complementary element to your event.
• Player appearances typically last one hour in length.

Paid Appearances

Paid business/promotional appearance fees are not set by the Redskins. Individual players and their agents establish these rates. Rates vary depending upon the player requested and the specifics of the appearance. The majority of Redskin player appearances are unpaid, including community and charitable appearances. If you are requesting a paid appearance by a Redskin player, please specify which player you would like to attend and the fee that will be paid to the player.
