Redskins Read

Redskins Read Program

In an effort to make reading more fun for elementary students, the Redskins Charitable Foundation created the Redskins Read Program focusing on a playbook for students to study the Xs and Os of reading! The Redskins Read Playbook provides monthly prompts for students to analyze a book(s) of their choice, focusing on different areas of the story (e.g. characters, setting, plot). This supplemental learning tool incentivizes 4th and 5th grade students by providing monthly prizes and the chance to host a Redskins event with current players at their school in the spring! The program runs from September – March.

Applications for the 2016-2017 program are now open! Apply online at www.redskins.com/readingapplication. Applications will close at 11:59PM on Monday, June 6. All schools will be notified of their selection by Friday, June 10.

Redskins Read Book Fair

What’s your favorite book? Why not share it with a child! Join the Redskins Charitable Foundation, Everybody Wins! DC and Barnes & Noble on Saturday, May 14, 2016 for the Redskins Read Book Fair, taking place at a Barnes & Noble location near you. Stop by one of three store locations for a chance to meet your favorite Redskins celebrity and benefit the Redskins Read Program. A percentage of all purchases on the day of the book fair will go toward providing books to children in need at the Redskins Back to School Fair this fall. A list of book titles will also be available in stores for direct donation to the cause. Just make sure to bring in the Redskins Read voucher or mention you are with the Redskins Read Book Fair at checkout. Click here for more details on the in-store Redskins Read celebrations!

Redskins Reading List

Don’t let the final school bell stop you from continuing to read! Whether you need an escape after school, are out on summer break or are simply looking to expand your knowledge, Everybody Wins! DC has put together a list of books to keep elementary-aged students reading regardless of the occasion!
