2006
Kimberly Linberger

Washington Redskins Cheerleader Kimberly Linberger was selected by her 2006 teammates to represent the Redskins at the 2007 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Kimberly, an 8-year veteran of the squad, was a team captain in 2006. She was awarded the Pro Bowl honor during the Redskins-Falcons game on Dec. 3 at FedExField.

"It was such a surprise. I didn't realize it had come true until the Hawaiian flower leis were placed over my head," Kimberly said. "My teammates all crowded around me and I was elated. My parents were brought down to the lower level of the stadium and were able to share in the excitement. What a fantastic day!"

Throughout her career as a Redskins Cheerleader, Kimberly has been active and dedicated in charity work. She has been on several Navy ships and on 10 USO/DoD tours entertaining the military in over 30 countries including Iraq, Bahrain, Kosovo, Bosnia, Honduras, Iceland, Italy, Cyprus and Turkey.

"Being able to put smiles on the faces of heroes that serve our country is priceless," Kimberly said about the tours she takes as a Washington Redskins cheerleader to military ships, bases and hospitals around the world. "Words could never express the true depth of gratitude I feel for being able to have that opportunity.”

2005
Courtney DeYoung

Washington Redskins Cheerleader Courtney DeYoung, a team captain and 10-year veteran, was selected by her teammates to represent the Redskins at the 2006 NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Courtney is only the third cheerleader in NFL history to go to the Pro Bowl two times. She also represented the Redskins at the February 2001 all-star event following the 2000 regular season.

"I know from going to the Pro Bowl in 2001 that it is a trip of a lifetime, and the second time is just as exciting," said Courtney, who since her last trip to Hawaii received her Master?s degree in forensic psychology.

The 10th season was a charm for Courtney. She is the last remaining cheerleader who performed at RFK for the last game and FedExField for the first. This year, she also appeared on the back cover of the Redskins Cheerleader swimsuit calendar and was on the cover of the November/December issue of Washington Flyer magazine, distributed in Washington, D.C., area airports.

"I feel truly blessed to represent the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders for a second time," Courtney said. "I know how intelligent, talented and beautiful all of my teammates are. It?s a great honor."

2004
Jamilla Keene

Washington Redskins cheerleader Jamilla Keene was selected by her teammates to represent the Redskins at the 2005 NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

"I am absolutely ecstatic that my teammates have picked me to represent them at the 2005 Pro Bowl," Jamilla said upon learning of her selection. "It is such a great feeling to be a part of such a wonderful group of ladies and to know they look to me to represent them at the highest level.

"There are so many wonderful women on this team and I feel any one of us could go. I have truly been at a loss for words to explain how wonderful this opportunity is going to be. I'm honored."

Keene's name was announced at the end of the first quarter during the Redskins-Eagles game on Dec. 12, 2004.

"I was absolutely surprised when I heard them announce my name at the game," she said. "GeNienne [2004 Pro Bowl Cheerleader] and Courtney [2001 Pro Bowl Cheerleader] approached me and I was trying my hardest not to cry. But as soon as I saw my family at 50-yard line, I lost it. I was shocked to see them at the game."

Jamilla has served on three Armed Forces Entertainment tours and has appeared in two swimsuit calendars. (She is on the current calendar's back cover.)

This year she represented the Redskins in Maxim Magazine as one of the NFL's Hottest Cheerleaders.

Throughout those opportunities, she has always had the support of the fans at FedExField.

"It was great to feel all the love and support from our fans as I shock their hands and they congratulated me," she said.

Jamillas' level of dedication has always made her a standout. She continues to take dance classes all over the country to keep improving on her dance technique.

"I would like to send a special thanks to my teammates for selecting me and also to our fans for their love and support," Jamilla said. "I have been truly blessed to have so much love and support from my teammates, friends and family."

A former UCA head instructor, Jamilla cheered for three years and coached at George Mason University.

2003
GeNienne Samuels

Redskins Cheerleader GeNienne Samuels was selected by her teammates to represent the Washington Redskins in the 2004 NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

"I'm not sure if I can put into words how honored, lucky and proud I am to have been selected by my teammates to represent the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders at the 2004 Pro Bowl," GeNienne said. "In my opinion, this is the highest accolade given by our organization because it is chosen by my teammates, voted on and decided by those who mean the most to me--my peers and my director.

"I have received so many emails and phone calls from current and former Redskins Cheerleaders congratulating me on this accomplishment--I am truly blessed to have such a strong network of friends and supporters.

Samuels's name was announced at the Redskins vs. New Orleans game on Nov. 30.

“I was immediately filled with emotion,” she said. “I was surprised, honored and thankful. As my teammates hugged me, I had tears in my eyes because I realized that I mean just as much to them as they mean to me.

"As I took my victory walk around the stadium, the support poured from the stands. I shook so many hands and received standing ovations. And of course, many fans asked if they could go to Hawaii with me. If I had it my way, I would take all of my teammates, family members and the dedicated Redskins fans with me on my journey to the Pro Bowl!"

GeNienne is a six-year veteran of the squad. She was a cheerleader for the University of Richmond and has a Master's degree in Project Management from the George Washington University.

2002
Tina Lancon

Tina Lancon was selected by her teammates to represent the Washington Redskins in the 2003 NFL Pro Bowl. Tina is three-year veteran and line captain.

"When we voted, I thought of the person who will show the entire league why we are so proud of what we do," said teammate Nikki, a four-year veteran. "Tina will do that."

Tina is finishing her third year with the Redskins, but she started at the professional level eight years ago. After graduating from Elon University, Tina moved back to the D.C. area and joined the NBA's Washington Bullettes Dance Team. After one season, she relocated to Atlanta. Tina joined the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders and showed her ability to enlighten NFL fans.

Tina spent fours years with the Falcons, two of which she served as Captain. She also cheered during the XXXIII Super Bowl.

Tina couldn't resist the opportunity to come back to Washington, D.C., and cheer for her favorite team. In 2000, she moved back and became a "First Lady of Football." She quickly became a stand-out on the squad and was named the "2000 Rookie of the Year."

In her second year, she was selected to be a Line Captain and was more than willing to share her knowledge with the squad.

"Being a Washington Redskins Cheerleader is more than rewarding in itself, but to be selected to the Pro Bowl is an honor that I will cherish for a lifetime," Tina said. "I have been able to travel the world, come home and dance for my favorite team. Now I get to go to Hawaii. I am truly grateful.

"I would like to say thank you to my fellow team members for selecting me and also to the fans for all your support over the past three seasons. You all are truly the best fans in the world."

2001
Shannon Hover

During the Dec. 2 game against Dallas at FedExField, the Redskins announced Shannon as the Redskins' Cheerleader representative to the 2002 Pro Bowl. A four-year veteran, line captain and Variety Show member, Shannon was completely surprised by the announcement which came during a time out in the second quarter.

After being presented with flowers, Shannon walked around the sidelines of FedExField waving to the more than 87,000 fans and was greeted with congratulatory well wishes. Her fellow team members selected her for her outstanding dance ability, professionalism, and dedication.

"I was completely shocked and overwhelmed by the announcement," Shannon said.

Shannon has an extensive dance background that started when she was five. Her mother signed her up for her first dance lesson. She studied dance at Sharon's Studio of Dance in Waldorf, Md., where she mastered the areas of ballet, tap and jazz.

Shannon continued dancing on the Dance Team at Thomas Stone High School. She performed at football and basketball games and competed both locally and nationally. During her senior year, while serving as captain, her squad took home the coveted first-place trophy at the Redskins Cheerleaders Metro Dance Team Championships.

"When I watched the Cheerleaders perform before the awards were announced, I was so impressed I decided at that time I was going to audition," Shannon said.

That spring, while still in high school, Shannon auditioned and was chosen from a pool of more than 300 women. A standout from the start, she was selected as the 1998 Rookie of the Year.

Shannon has had the opportunity to showcase her amazing dance talents as a member of the Redskins Cheerleaders Variety Show. She has entertained troops in the Middle East and fans all over the United States.
