Hey all you Redskins Fans, this is Maya here! Yesterday I had the privilege of traveling to Norfolk, VA to visit some of the men and women on board the IKE before it deploys to the Persian Gulf. There are nearly 6,000 sailors that will be deploying tomorrow, June 20th, and we got to witness their living environment first hand. The cheerleaders were taken on a tour around the entire ship…and let me tell you that was a workout! So many steep stairs and narrow hallways, I cannot imagine how hectic it must be with the thousands of people on board. After the tour we were able to mingle and interact with all of the hard working sailors. I’d have to say after this event, my new favorite thing about being a Washington Redskins Cheerleader is showing love and support to our troops. Thank you for everything you all do for our country! It does not go unnoticed. This is my second year on the team and my first time experiencing an event like this. But lucky for me, I will be going on tour next week to Fort Drum in NY. It’s an amazing feeling to know we were able to provide some motivation, morale, and support to our troops.
Hail to the Redskins! Hail to our troops!
