Hey everyone!

Candess here back for my second season as a cheerleader and first season apart of the first ladies of fitness. Throughout my rookie season last year, I learned pretty quickly how much strength and endurance is required of a NFL cheerleader. Between practicing multiple times throughout the week, performing for eight hours straight on game days and always needing to be photo shoot ready, having a solid fitness & nutrition regimen is imperative for a successful season.

Fortunately, we have the assistance of one of our fitness trainers and sponsors, Andy Berler, the founder of the nationwide fitness phenomenon, BMAX. Recently, we spent a Sunday morning doing a boot camp with Andy where he carefully prescribed a workout regimen for our squad that is meant to keep us in the best shape for the entire season and beyond. As cheerleaders with full time jobs, families and school responsibilities, time becomes one of our biggest factors when it comes to our fitness regimen. The BMAX method guarantees us a quality full body workout in under 30 minutes so we have no excuses!

Fitness has become one of my biggest passions over the past few years. Like many people in my freshman year of college, I gained a little more than the normal 15 and realized how important it is to be mindful of your health and wellness. I have since lost over thirty pounds using similar techniques and nutrition tips that Andy gives us now. Some of the most impactful fitness tips are to switch up your workouts regularly to ensure you are working different muscles groups, eat small, frequent meals with enough protein carbs and fat to keep you energized throughout your day and don't be scared of a rest day! Your body needs recovery so use that time to stretch and recuperate to prevent injury.

Always remember, fitness is a lifestyle so be sure to adopt a regimen that fits in with your everyday life. One aspect that makes my fitness journey so rewarding is that it is with a supportive friend group with similar goals as mine. I'm so thankful to have a squad that encourages health and happiness so I challenge you to do the same with your friends and family!

Drink your water & do your squats,

Candess
